“When you move beyond your fear, you feel free”. Spencer Johnson

A wise man was sitting by a lake, deep in contemplation, when he noticed a dog, parched with thirst, repeatedly coming to the lake's edge. Just as the dog was about to drink, it would turn and run away.

Focusing intently on the scene, he realized that although the dog was thirsty, it became frightened upon seeing its own reflection in the water and would flee without drinking. Finally, the dog could no longer bear its thirst, plunged into the lake, and drank freely because it no longer saw its own reflection.

At that moment, the wise man thought, "This is what I have learned from this: the obstacle between a person and their desires is often the fear they nurture within themselves, the barriers they build inside. If a person can overcome these, they can achieve what they desire."

One of the most powerful emotions we possess in life, fear, as highlighted in the example above, has a profound impact on our mind and body. Fear sends strong signals in urgent situations, such as encountering a wild animal, being in a fast-moving vehicle with a blown tire, or facing turbulence on an airplane. It can also affect us in less dangerous scenarios, like taking an exam, speaking in front of a crowd, starting a new job, going on a first date, or even meeting someone through an arranged introduction. This natural reaction arises from either perceived or real threats.

To achieve success in life, reach our goals, and find happiness, we must overcome the emotion of fear that restricts us and prevents us from utilizing our skills. If we continue to live with fear and avoid facing it, our fears will only grow and appear in every area of our lives. To overcome them, it’s crucial to analyze our fears, understand when and how they developed, and prepare ourselves to face them. When our fears persist, we weaken, but when we conquer them, we grow stronger. One of the golden keys.
